Hey Goobers,

Due to a court matter I was required for this week (I was on the good guys side BTW) I was advised by police not to take any overseas travel in August, which completely STUFFED my plans to represent AU at TREK worlds this year and bring it back for us. However, in the words of John Cleese in Life of Brian, let us not let one complete catastrophy get us down hearted! Worlds 2010 will be somewhere (probably Germany by the sounds of things in October) I would urge all AU Trek goobers to start planning and saving for this NOW! We could make this a trip of a lifetime, as October is also Octoberfest, and we know what that means...as well as other chances to experience cultural festivals from the other side of the world.

Even if the event stays at Indy in August, that is a fairly grand thing anyway. The main thing is that AU Trek goobers start saving up and planning NOW!

You're only young once-lets do this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A Team WA repesentation at Worlds '10 is being dissucssed. There are a number of things that will need to go right in the meantime (like me actually being able to get vac work this summer, thanks George Bush for fucking that up for me), but its not out of the question :D

I'd also suggest a stopover in Vegas on the way home may spice the trip up somewhat :P

If only life was so simple! ;)

It's going to be a hard slug to get to the stage where I can justifiably budget attending and running the AC, AS WELL AS attending the Worlds. I'm trying, but if life springs a surprise on me, the Worlds trip will be the first thing I'll be cancelling. The AC is my responsibility, so I'll definitely be going to Sydney.

Rest assured, the Perth boys are all planning the next 12 months with both an AC and Worlds trip in mind, but as I said before, the Worlds ain't no small sojourn to Sydney, and finances are tight. Behind the scenes we're planning this very carefully to ensure we've considered all reasonable possibilities.

I'd still love to go, but I'm facing an uphill battle to get there. Financially, I don't have much money coming in at the moment and am pushing things just to be prepared for the AC expenses.

Post AC (July onwards) I intend to be working my butt off, so it'd just be a question of time and money. I am in no position to say any more than it (the Worlds) is something high on my list, but very dependent on factors out of my control for the time being.

Get back to me at the end of July and I'll let you know where I stand. ;)

Shane & I are 85% sure we're going-scheduling and the ability to get a decent deal pending. Essen boardgame fair, Octoberfest and TREK are the main drawcards, with maybe some time in London on the cards as well.

We're looking at 2.5-4 weeks travel, if it does happen we'll make everyone aware of the arrangements in case we can get reinforcements along with us

Cheers
