Can anyone fill in any info?

Other larger events (such as Maiden Voyages and Premier Series events) that may have come to Australia are candidates to be added too.

I was runner up at NSW Territorials on at least one occasion but can't remember which year (probably 1998 or 1999). I won a folder to display my cards in that said Runner-Up NSW Territorials 1998 or 1999 (I might have even sold it to Stoovie with all my other 1E cards). I can't remember who beat me. Might have been John Medland or Ray (forgotten his last name)? But I am just guessing. Clayton might remember.

I will brainstorm with the Sydney guys and see if we can piece this rather hazy period of my life back together. I am sure that too much partying in the late 90's early 2000's and the resulting Sunday hangover stopped me winning the top prize. At least I like that excuse.

I also think that brothers Patrick and Mitchell (again forgot their last name) did alright around that same time.

I did buy a whole heap of 1e off you way back, but I don't recall buying the binder. :)

My dates are out anyway. I came second using a Voyager deck so it must have been 2001. By 2002 I suspect I would have been using my Dixon Hill deck which was the last deck I used before switching to 2E.

I can't say with 100% certainty but I expect it was 2001 that I came runner-up in NSW Championships.

I will still see what a bit of brainstorming brings us next weekend at the Regionals. Between Clayton, Mike, Pete and myself we might remember something.

I thought Ray Isais started playing in 2001 or so, when The Borg came out. Unless it's another Ray.

Their names were Patrick Palmer Thomas and Mitchell O'Brien. Took me to the movies one time.

Weren't Mitchell and Patrick brothers? Man the days from the past are hazy. I thought Mitchell's last name was O'Brien but I thought I might be having a Miles moment.

The few tournaments Ray played he was almost unbeatable. I am pretty sure he won a NSW regional (or whatever they were called back then).

My original dates were out though .. it was definately 2001/2002 that John, Ray and myself performed well because Voyager had been released. I played Federation Voyager (Scission deck). John played Vidiian and Ray played Hiirogen.

Of note for pre-2000 dates. Troy Armstrong and Patrick did very well also but they both stopped playing as much when Ben and I came on the scene (which was around the release of Deep Space Nine).

I am almost certain that Ray won one year using Hirogen. I remember swapping the bulk of my Hirogen for his Fed Voyager personnel. If he started playing in 2002 then I am pretty sure it was that year that I was runner up and he came first.

My logic for this is...

I know I came second and I know I played Voyager. I know I got the cards to build that deck from Ray. If Ray came on the scene in 2002 and that was the last year before 2E was released then 2002 NSW Regionals 1st and 2nd are almost certainly:

1st ... Ray Isias
2nd .. Stephen Hartmann

They were cousins actually. IIRC Pat was two years older then me, while Mitchell was one month younger.

PPT's last tournament was Supanova 2001, just as TMP came out. He was gearing up for his HSC, and took a sabbatical. He never returned. :(

Since he never came back, neither did Mitchell.
